Meet James: A Teacher Who Gives His Saturdays

Local teacher James Mwangi has volunteered every Saturday for two years, tutoring children in math and science.

James Mwangi is a secondary school teacher who could spend his weekends relaxing. Instead, for the past two years, he has driven to Orphans Dream every Saturday to tutor children in mathematics and science. "These children have so much potential," James says. "They just need someone to believe in them and give them a little extra help." His dedication has helped 15 students improve their grades significantly. Three of his students have now qualified for science scholarships. James embodies the spirit of community that makes Orphans Dream special.
